Our philosophy is to create interiors that reflect the style of the client and respect the architectural style of each structure. The studio takes on only select projects, allowing dedication of our full attention to our clients' needs. We custom design furniture as needed, and seek to find practical and interesting solutions to all design challenges. Many of our design resources are located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Santa Fe, London and Paris. Northbrook Design was founded in 1999 by Katherine Ringling North.

KATHERINE RINGLING NORTH,
Founder and Principal

Katherine was raised in Ireland and is a descendant of the Ringling Brothers. She has practiced interior design in Chicago and San Francisco. Completed interiors projects include three San Francisco Decorator Showcase rooms, and a wide range of Residences & Hotels in the Bay Area, South Carolina & New York. Katherine is known for her elegant and crisp design aesthetic, and subtle whimsy inspired by her circus heritage.
